Online tuition has changed the way students can access learning. As a home educating family, my children accessed online tuition as the norm even before the pandemic. I find it equally as effective as face to face tuition and in the case of shy or anxious students it is more beneficial than in person. Students are able to engage by using the chat box if they do not feel comfortable to speak on camera. This means that students who otherwise may not join in a lesson are able to show what they are capable of.
TUITION

English and Maths GCSE for students with Specific Learning Differences.
Sept 2025 £40 per hour, £32 45 mins, £25 30 mins
Dyslexia Support
I offer online individual tuition to students from the age of 7. The lessons are multisensory and engaging. Students will require a small whiteboard, pen and wooden alphabet letters along with pencil and paper. We follow a typical structured course of learning appropriate for dyslexic individuals or those with literacy difficulties. Lessons typically take place once a week for an hour but this can be dependent upon the student. Homework, in the form of a game or activity, can be given tp reinforce skills. This is dependent upon the students needs and abilities.

GCSE English
This is tailored to the student. Some students need support with the writing elements of the GCSE English exam whilst others struggle with the reading parts. We also ensure we revisit spellings and grammar and punctuation previously learnt if necessary. Finally, we make sue of past papers and develop exam skills such as timing, checking and making use of any Access Arrangements.
GCSE Maths
This is tailored to the student. Quite often we need to revisit skills relating to number sense and recall of times tables. These are usually done at the start of each lesson. Lessons use either virtual or concrete manipulatives where necessary and we use a pictorial approach before moving onto abstract methods.
