Online tuition has changed the way students can access learning. As a home educating family, my children accessed online tuition as the norm even before the pandemic. I find it equally as effective as face to face tuition and in the case of shy or anxious students it is more beneficial than in person. Students are able to engage by using the chat box if they do not feel comfortable to speak on camera. This means that students who otherwise may not join in a lesson are able to show what they are capable of.

TUITION

Tuition

Dyslexia, Dyscalculia

English and Maths GCSE for students with Specific Learning Differences.

Sept 2026 £45 per hour

Dyslexia Support

I offer online individual tuition to students from the age of 7 to KS3 . The lessons are multisensory and engaging. Students will require a small whiteboard, pen and wooden alphabet letters along with pencil and paper. We follow a typical structured course of learning appropriate for dyslexic individuals or those with literacy difficulties. Lessons typically take place once a week for an hour but this can be dependent upon the student. Homework, in the form of a game or activity, can be given tp reinforce skills. This is dependent upon the students needs and abilities.

GCSE English

This is tailored to the student. Some students need support with the writing elements of the GCSE English exam whilst others struggle with the reading parts. We also ensure we revisit spellings and grammar and punctuation previously learnt if necessary. Finally, we make sue of past papers and develop exam skills such as timing, checking and making use of any Access Arrangements.

Coaching

For neurodivergent students

Sept 2026 £50 per week

Support with planning and organising workload.

I can support students to plan and organise their workload. We look at what the difficulties are and put a plan in place to support students with workload. This may include checking in with me at various points during the week or accessing a 'get it done' session on Zoom.

We look at strategies to stay on track and find tools and resources which the student can use to support themselves.

Revision

Students often tell me they don't know how to revise. They may be using flashcards or copying information from a text book and highlighting it. For some, this may work but for other, it is not helpful. In a 1-1 session, we look at other ways to revise and remember facts. We work together to figure out what is right for the student.

Dyslexic students may need a more visual approach and we explore what his means and how it can be implemented.

Timing

These can be one off sessions or during exam season may be more regular.

Please Note: These are coaching and support sessions, not teaching of content.

I have some online availability for May 2026 for one of sessions.
